Sharon Revital Aluma is Merging the Worlds of Energetics and Art.

In the tapestry of my lifetime journey, I’ve discovered my essence through the interweaving realms of art and spirituality. Growing up in a home that bridged the cultures of an Iraqi-Israeli father and an American-European Jewish mother, my childhood unfolded amid cultural polarities—imbued with the teachings of the Torah, philosophical pondering, music from diverse cultures, and a rich tapestry of education and art.

Art served as my pillar, and in retrospect, it functioned as my therapist as well. The foundation of my art practice was laid through the encouragement of my parents and a book by Ed Emberley, guiding me to draw through shapes. It involved dividing a circle into different pieces to create an entirely new world. Recognizing my growing passion, my parents realized I needed more, and lead me to the studio of artist Peter Olsen each week between the ages of 11 and 18 for valuable lessons of art, a spiritual center, and life.

Continuing my education, I pursued Environmental Design at Maryland Institute College of Art. Simultaneously, I discovered my yoga practice, which evolved into a profound exploration of embodiment. I eventually ventured into teaching yoga, meditation, and energy work. While my engagement in artistic pursuits slowed, my spiritual practices intensified, encompassing participation in plant medicine ceremonies. Along this transformative journey, I discovered a shift in my artistic expression—I no longer desired to convey my art through external observations but, rather, through inner reflections.

Painting with sound became the reentry into my artistic practice. The sticks felt as familiar as my paintbrushes, and the metaphysical expression served as a poignant reminder of the vastness yet to be explored. Embracing collage, I discovered a medium to articulate the intricacies of this metaphysical realm. Eventually, through the profound experience of motherhood, my painting collection materialized, titled "Her Body Sings."

My life and lifetimes shape my work, weaving every thread of my existence into my creations. I function as a spiritual conduit, channeling paintings of the future. This process serves as a prayer, a vision, and a blueprint through which the otherworldly flows through me—a journey defined by connection, trust, and intuition. My spiritual practices thrive through yoga, kriya, breathwork, chanting, meditation, sound exploration, ceremonial rituals, and communion with plants.
